Synopsis

Igo Shinan ("Lessons of Go") is a simulation of the popular board game Go from Hect. As its name suggests, it teaches players, whether novices or experts, to improve their Go game and provides them with computer opponents.

The player can set the level of assistance they wish to receive, including the presentation of possible moves (usually one of them is more favorable than the others) and whether the computer can take over.

Hect followed Igo Shinan with four sequels, each referencing the year of its release: Igo Shinan '91, Igo Shinan '92, Igo Shinan '93, and Igo Shinan '94. Igo Shinan, and all its sequels, were released only in Japan.
