Synopsis

A vertical shoot-em-up carried from the Naomi Arcade version. Ikaruga is more or less a sequel to Radiant Silvergun on the Sega Saturn.

Based on a two-color system, the player must alternate between the black and white sides of their ship during gameplay. The black side is immune to enemies' black bullets, which it considers a bonus, and dies on impact from enemies' white bullets. Your own black bullets do twice as much damage to white enemies as white bullets. And vice versa for the white side. These properties allow you to find a balance between protecting yourself well and killing enemies quickly.

This aspect, combined with specific enemy models and a combo system makes Ikaruga an original shoot-em-up with a dose of strategy.
