Synopsis

At the beginning of the 21st century, a terrible catastrophe, called the "Demon Crisis", devastated the Asian continent. Hong Kong was the hardest hit by this mysterious demonic attack. Terrible diseases have transformed this once-prosperous city into a pale shadow of its former self. But when people returned to see what had happened to the isolated town, they found that it was ruled by a new order - a society called SIVA. This new order proclaimed New Hong Kong to be an independent state. The People's Republic of China and the United Kingdom signed an agreement in which they both renounced their claims to the city.

The player plays Tianren, a "diver" (demon hunter) who lives in Hong Kong. His place of birth and the identity of his parents are unknown. With a daughter named Meihong, he was raised in the household of a wise master. By traveling the immense city, gathering information and fighting demonic forces, Tianren will have to elucidate the mystery surrounding the SIVA society and the supernatural beings from Chinese myths.
