Synopsis

Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine combines action and adventure in a way that older Indy games didn't. The gameplay is inspired by Tomb Raider, with Indy evolving in 3D representations of 17 locations around the world. The game engine is a modified version of Jedi Knight.

The puzzles are based on switches and objects; precise jumps must be performed regularly. You must use ladders, ropes and inflatable boats, but also travel on foot. You will also find yourself on board a jeep and a mine cart. Replacements for your standard whip can be collected along the way (from the Soviet Army's arsenal), including grenades, submachine guns and bazookas. The valuable treasures you find can be used to purchase additional ammo (between levels). After each level you get your score (Indy quotient) - you have to reach all the skillfully hidden treasures in secret locations to get full points.
