Synopsis

Insmouse no Yakata (translation: "Innsmouth Manor") is a first-person shooter video game released in 1995 on Virtual Boy. The story is based on the Cthulhu Mythos universe by H.P. Lovecraft, more precisely on the short story "The Innsmouth Nightmare" written in 1931 and published in April 1936.
The goal of the game is to find the exit from this mansion in a maze of corridors with doors full of monsters and within a given time frame. The player goes through 13 of the 45 levels determined by the time taken to go through each level and giving access to one of the 4 possible endings of the game. You have to go through the 13 levels within the allotted time and without dying to obtain ending A. To defend himself against the monsters, our hero, probably Robert Olmstead from H.P.'s short story. Lovecraft, is armed with a pistol and a very limited number of ammunition.
