Synopsis
Iwo Jima is a strategy game inspired by the historic Battle of Iwo Jima, during which American forces captured the island in order to establish air bases to fight against Japan. You play as the Americans, while the computer controls the Japanese forces, with five difficulty levels. An island map displays symbols representing terrain, minefields, enemy units, and your own forces. Players take turns giving orders to their units, with the results calculated retrospectively. The objective is to defeat the Japanese forces and take full control of the island.
