Synopsis

Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu '98: Basic Edition is a Baseball game, featuring the friendly "pawapurokun", these little chubby baseball players who can be found in all the episodes. The gameplay is classic but extremely precise. In attack, you have to position yourself and have incredible timing to land a good swing with your bat. A rectangle is displayed in front of the batsman delimiting the area in which the pitcher can place the ball without it being at fault, and a small square, like a viewfinder, shows the place where we are going to hit. At the top of the screen, a "mirror" view shows our batter from the front and, behind him, the catcher of the opposing team: you have to observe where the latter places his glove to get an idea of ​​where the pitcher is going to throw. In defense, you will have to run, dive and quickly throw the ball again to hope to eliminate the opponents who have managed to hit the ball. The game modes offer a classic championship, with all the real professional teams from the Japanese leagues, and a scenario mode where you take a match in progress in a given situation. There is also an essential training mode to improve your skills.
