Synopsis

A lawyer pulls off a miracle, but the verdict costs him everything. Now, as a series of murders casts a pall over the city and the law begins to fail, justice cannot afford to be blind.

The son of a murdered lawyer, Takayuki Yagami was raised on the streets of Kamurocho by a yakuza patriarch who paves the way for Yagami to follow in his real father's footsteps. Accepting a job at Genda Law Firm, Yagami takes on a high-profile case: proving the innocence of Shinpei Okubo, a man suspected of murder.

Against all odds, Yagami succeeds and is hailed as a hero, but his prolific career is short-lived. A few months later, Okubo brutally murdered his girlfriend, stabbing her more than ten times with a kitchen knife before setting their apartment on fire.

Yagami becomes the lawyer who let a murderer get away with it – and everything he's worked for comes crashing down.

Three years later, Yagami retired his lawyer badge to run a small detective agency in the red-light district of Kamurocho, getting by on odd jobs and collecting evidence.

But even such a seedy town is rocked by a series of serial murders, where the bodies of the victims are discovered with their eyes gouged out. Yagami is drawn into the case through his former law firm, where he discovers that to bring this killer to light, he must seek out the truth that eluded him three years ago. But can a man haunted by his failures overcome his own past?
