Synopsis

Jungle King is considered one of the first side-scrolling platformers. The player plays a man strongly resembling Tarzan who must go through four successive challenges: swinging from vine to vine, swimming while avoiding alligators while monitoring his air gauge, climbing a hill while avoiding rocks, then jumping over two cannibals to save Penelope held above a cauldron. Once the four scenes are completed, the game starts again with a modified palette and additional obstacles, such as monkeys on vines. The game was then graphically reworked and then renamed “Jungle Hunt” following a dispute regarding the hero's resemblance to Tarzan.
