Synopsis

Juno First is a vertical scrolling shoot-em-up from a third-person perspective in which players must destroy waves of attacking aliens. Unlike other shooters of the time, the enemies of the game do not line up in a gallery but move freely on the screen. For this reason, the player's ship can move forward and backward (in addition to left and right).

In addition to the attacking aliens, a spherical "space capsule" sometimes appears on the screen and, if fired, it frees an enemy astronaut who can then be captured. However, this must be done within a set time frame, with the screen having a red hue for the period during which rescue is possible. During the capture phase, each enemy the player shoots is worth an additional 200 points.
