Just Breed
Synopsis
The game is linear, and takes place in towns, where characters can rest and equip themselves, and in combat zones, where the action takes place on a grid and each unit can move and act.
This game differs from other Tactical RPGs by its army system, where each main character commands an army made up of five other secondary characters, and the fact that there are monster nests, from which a monster can come out of its "nest" every turn, which requires the player to not only defeat enemies, but also "block" the nests so as not to be invaded by monsters, which means imminent defeat.
The player embodies the head of the city guard of Astholm, which is protected by the Sapphire, one of the six legendary gemstones. The game begins on the evening of the annual Saphire Festival. It is then that a group of monsters, commanded by General Ezelkiel, steal the legendary stone and immediately flee. The player then sets off in pursuit of the monsters, who intend to steal all the legendary stones and revive an evil era.
Just Breed is one of the largest NES games, totaling 6 megabits. It uses Nintendo's MMC5 integrated circuit to achieve graphics beyond the console's capabilities, and have two additional sound voices.
