Kids on Keys
Synopsis
This is a collection of three mini-games designed to teach the basics of reading and typing to young microcomputer users of the early 1980s. The first of three games (each with four skill levels, requiring faster reflexes) presents the player with falling letters which they must type correctly before hitting the bottom of the screen... and finally the game's mascot floats around challenging the player to type an entire word. The second game treats word typing as a learned skill, with the player now tasked with typing the full name of icons of common household objects that gradually float across the screen. In the third game, an item is named at the bottom of the screen and the player must type the correct number corresponding to the item's icon, displayed on the screen.
The second and third games include bonus games whose progress is identical to that of the normal games, except that the icons are now partially hidden, which requires the player to use his memorization skills.
