Synopsis

Kong Strikes Back! is a single-screen platformer inspired by the arcade game Mr. Do's Wild Ride. It features the characters of Donkey Kong and allows you to control your hero to save a young girl, located at the top right of the screen, from the claws of a giant gorilla. The game takes place through different levels. Each level takes place on a roller coaster: you have to ride the rails until you reach the girl, avoiding bumper cars and other obstacles.

You have a limited number of bombs (unlimited on ZX Spectrum) to destroy vehicles. Ladders are also scattered throughout the course; you can climb them to avoid vehicles and get bonuses (the C64 version offers additional bombs to collect) to increase your score. If you hit a vehicle or an obstacle, you lose a life. Once the girl is saved, you can move on to the next level.
