Kuusou Kagaku Sekai Gulliver Boy
Synopsis
Technically, it's very successful for the PC Engine, at least on the level of Tengai Makyô: Manjimaru. The sprites are very cute, and the decorations are fine and very colorful. The normal fights are, it must be admitted, quite ugly. Only a few magics and the artwork accompanying the hero's special attack stand out somewhat. On the other hand, the bosses are really superb, and it is not uncommon for them to occupy the entire screen. Additionally, depending on their state, their sprites evolve, it’s nice! And the bosses are the only well-animated enemies. For the PC Engine, the cut-scenes are stunning, a must-see! Concerning the soundtrack, the style contrasts a bit with that of the classic Tengai Makyô, very Japanese. That doesn't stop it from being very successful, and I suppose some of the music comes directly from the anime. There is a lot of dubbing throughout the game, which breaks up the monotony of the dialogue. We therefore obtain a very "manga" atmosphere, for this game whose lifespan is around forty hours, and whose difficulty will make it inaccessible to basic noobs. The storyline is very good and gripping from start to finish, there is no down time.
