Synopsis

You are the captain of the spaceship Falcon, returning home after an exploratory flight deep into space. You’ve made some fantastic discoveries—such as the gas-based intelligent life forms on planet X9E13—and you can’t wait to tell the world about them. But you used up a little too much fuel visiting that fascinating, pulsating red-and-green planet with yellow clouds and a strange race of radioactive dwarves. As you approach the outer reaches of the solar system, you realize with horror that you won’t make it back to Earth. Your fuel is running out—fast! There’s only one chance—Mars lies between you and Earth. If you can make it there, you can refuel at the Earth Space Agency’s outpost on that planet. From there, it’ll be just a short hop home. Mars will come into view, and you’ll have just enough fuel to land—but it’ll be a close call. The ESA outpost appears on the scanner, and it’s time to begin your landing procedure. It’s a delicate operation—landing without much fuel to spare—so you have to keep an eye on everything at once. Keep an eye on your speed, or you’ll burn up, but be careful not to let the engines overheat. And you have to stay on course, or you’ll end up carrying that fuel over a long distance. Strike a balance between fuel consumption and overheating engines, and don’t descend too fast for your heat shields. There goes engine three! Can you land on just two?
