Synopsis

Laplace no Ma (Laplace Devil) is a Japanese-style RPG with horror elements, somewhat similar to Sweet Home for NES. Unlike Sweet Home, this game is more geared towards RPG gameplay. You are not stuck in the mansion, but can leave it, visit the town and buy supplies. Later you will also visit other places such as a castle etc. Battles are random, turn-based, and seen from a first-person perspective. The hero of the game can recruit three other characters from the party of five available. Each character (including the hero you assign gender and class to) belongs to one of five character classes: Dilettante, Average, Detective, Scientist, or Journalist. Dilettante is a versatile character with defensive magic, Medium is a kind of dark mage, Detective is a melee fighter, Scientist can build powerful machines to perform various techniques, and Reporter can take photos of monsters, which is the only way to get money in the game.
