Synopsis

Two variants of Breakout are available in this title.
In Blockout!, the object is to explode the blocks as quickly as possible. There are four rows of colored blocks and each row has an electronic demon. Electronic demons can replace removed blocks when charged. They will be charged by touching both sides of the screen. After placing a block, they will lose the charge, and if they try to cross an uncharged gap, they will fall and respawn after a penalty time.

In two-player mode, the second player controls the electronic demons while trying to prevent the first player from passing through the barricade. The player has 90 seconds to try to reach it.

In Breakdown!, the object is to destroy as many blocks as the player can within 60 seconds. Unlike Blockout!, the ball (called Blockbuster) does not ricochet when it hits blocks, only when it hits the edges of the screen, destroying any blocks it passes through on its way.

In two-player mode, the second player again controls the electronic demos, which now move twice as fast as in Blockout!. A counter at the top of the screen indicates the number of blocks remaining.
In both variants, the number of Blockbusters (balls) is unlimited.
