Synopsis

The game's opening sequence shows Larry mowing Eve's lawn, his sexual encounter from the end of the previous game, implying that the two have remained together. However, this quickly proves to be an example of an unreliable narrator, as Eve comes down the aisle with only the vaguest memory of who Larry is. Realizing his affair with Eve was just a one-night stand, a distraught Larry moves away, winning the lottery as well as a free vacation after stumbling upon a rigged dating game show. While preparing for the cruise ship, a microfilm accidentally falls into Larry's hands; this attracts the attention of the KGB as well as mad scientist Dr. Nonookee (a pun on "no nookie"), both of whom want the film back.

On the cruise ship, Larry discovers that the woman who mistakenly chose him on the dating show let her mother go with Larry, so he prepares to escape from her; he stops the ship and escapes on a lifeboat. A few days later, he was swept away by the waters of a seaside resort on a Spanish-speaking Pacific island. As KGB agents block the way to the airport, Larry disguises himself as a woman and passes.

As the plane's landing brings Larry toward the agents, he opens the door and escapes the plane with a parachute. He will fall into the jungle of a pristine tropical island, Nontoonyt, where Dr. Nonookee has his base of operations. Passing through Peris in the jungle, Larry meets Kalalau, the daughter of Chief Keneewawau, who explains to him that Dr. Nonookee is preventing a company from investing on the island and developing it as a resort island. In order to marry Kalalau, Larry infiltrates the volcano and accidentally causes the death of Dr. Nonookee, freeing the native women he had hypnotized into slavery, including "Polyester Patti". In the final cutscene, Larry marries the chief's daughter, the wizard rejuvenates him, and he has sex with Kalalau as the volcano explodes.

Throughout the adventure, recurring themes contribute to the comic effect, such as visiting identical barbershops in almost every location Larry visits; one of them is treated by Rosella from King's Quest IV: The Perils of Rosella.
