Synopsis

In Lightning Fighters and Trigon, the original Japanese version, the rules differ depending on whether you start the game with one or two players. In solo, you start without bombs and, in case of death, the game restarts at a checkpoint. With two players, each life begins with a bomb and, in the event of death, you reappear on the spot. Some powerups only appear in solos, while others only appear in duos. The game mode cannot be changed during the game. A second player cannot join a solo game. If a player dies in duo, the game remains in duo mode and the second player can return at any time.
In Lightning Fighters, the game is always in two-player mode: you respawn on the spot after your death and you start each life with a bomb. A second player can join the game at any time. Bonuses that only appear in single player mode in other versions do not appear in the American version.
