Synopsis

Limbo is a side-scrolling platform game set in a sinister, monochrome world. The player controls a protagonist only known as The Boy who must enter the world of Limbo in search of his sister. However, the story as a whole can also be seen as a metaphor for the search for a mate and a way to navigate a new environment. No clues are given at the start, there are no introductory scenes and the game begins immediately. In this world full of dangers, his means are limited and he is extremely vulnerable. Only two buttons are used, one for jumping and one for performing an action, combined with movement. This allows him to explore the world and cling to ledges, slide down slopes, push objects, pull levers, and hang on ropes. But the player must take advantage of what's present in the environment to get by, often using physics-based elements.
