Synopsis

The first sign of this text adventure game's originality lies in its concise manual description. Unlike most games of the era, Lords of Karma does not feature a narrative accompanied by attractive illustrations. The intrigue, landscapes and scents of its magical world are discovered throughout the game. Treasures and formidable enemies are there, but what to do with the loot? All you know is that you have to collect “karma points” to get to heaven, and that you start in the heart of the mythical city of Golconda. Shortcuts and two-word commands guide you through this turn-based text adventure, but the slightest hesitation will land you straight into the mouth of a hungry crocodile. Fortunately, death is not permanent: the wheel of karma continues to turn. You lose your material possessions and find yourself on top of a mountain, but the map remains the same and your karma points are retained.
