Synopsis

MagiCard is a unique object in the history of the Atari 2600. Designed by CommaVid in the early 1980s, it was not a game but a real educational tool intended to introduce enthusiasts to the 6502 assembly language. The box set included a hundred-page manual detailing programming on the console, and allowed small programs to be written and then executed directly via the keyboard controllers. Users could even tinker with a cassette interface to save and reload their code. Produced in only 50 to 100 copies, these cartridges are today extremely rare and sought after. More than entertainment, MagiCard embodies a pioneering attempt to transform the console into a platform for experimentation and learning, which gives it unique historical and educational value among collectors and retro computing enthusiasts.
