Synopsis

Mail Order Monsters is an action/strategy game, considered by some to be a precursor to the Pokémon series. The player(s) create a variety of monsters, assign them different traits, and equip them with modern and/or futuristic weapons for combat. Monsters can be further customized by purchasing special abilities, such as adding tentacles to use advanced weapons. Two players can compete against each other, play capture the flag, or try to get the highest score against a computer-controlled horde. In single-player mode, the computer controls an opponent. Battles take place on different maps that can have important tactical effects, such as mountains behind which agile monsters can hide during battles. Monsters can be saved to floppy disk and upgraded by winning victories against other monsters or computer-controlled opponents.
