Synopsis

Mega Zone is a vertical scrolling shooter. Players cross several areas of enemy territories in order to reach their final destination, the Mega Zone, where they will have a final confrontation with the enemy command tower.

Players pilot an amphibious rocket tank and shoot at 32 different types of enemies. If the player collects twelve energy modules, a "MEG" (Mega short circuit) appears. Obtaining this power allows the tank to combine with another tank and triples the tank's size and firepower. On the way to the Mega Zone, players will sometimes reach a fork in which they can choose which path to take.
