Synopsis

Meimon! Takonishi Ouendan (often localized as The West Tako Cheerleaders) is a Famicom strategy game based on a manga where a kid joins his school's feared cheerleading squad. In 1987, this manga also had a film adaptation. Players move characters around a city map and battle rival teams of cheerleaders for dominance. The fights take place in a timing mini-game where you must enter a command before the opponent's fist hits the character. Powerful attacks require rapid execution and are high risk. After each victory, the player's team can level up and gain powerful special attacks.
