Synopsis

The story begins on the banks of a river, when a grandmother doing her laundry (we've already had a dreamier story!) retrieves a large peach that was floating on the river. Determined to make short work of it, the good woman sits down at the table with her friendly husband, when, lo and behold, the peach bursts to let young Momotaroh “hatch”! Once he reaches the age of majority, like Moses rescued from the waters, Momotaroh, prince of fisheries, decides to go and save his country from the demonic threat weighing on its inhabitants. Go, Momotaroh, and show them you're the best!
