Synopsis

Monster Smash is a single-screen, side-view platformer in which your task is to capture all the monsters partying around the local graveyard. The screen has four rows of platforms containing four tombstones on three levels and part of the platforms can be rotated 90°. Partying monsters appear at the top and left of the screen and move to the right of the screen along the platforms. Turning the platforms causes the monsters to go down as they hit the turned parts and head to the bottom of the screen. By pressing the fire button, the tombstones move up and down and when a monster hits a tombstone, it is captured. If the monster hits the other side of the screen while it has escaped and let too much escape, indicated by a gauge, then it is game over. Once a certain number of monsters have been captured, you move on to the next level. Before starting the game, you can select the level number from one to nine.
