Synopsis

Motteke Tamago; This game from Naxat Soft is atypical in many ways. Announced for release in 1993, the game - although 100% finalized - was constantly postponed. The years passed and, although the title remained on the release schedules, it was increasingly forgotten to the point that in 1997, when everyone agreed that the last PC Engine game was Madô Monogatari released in December 1996 on Arcade Card, Motteke Tamago joined the PC Engine unreleased games section among many other abandoned projects.
But to everyone's surprise, PC Engine Fan would resurrect the game and offer it as a parting gift to fans in the very last issue of the official PC Engine magazine. After almost eight years of monthly publication, or around 90 issues, PC Engine Fan offered (through Tokumashoten Intermedia) in the Super PC Engine Fan Deluxe volume 2 of April two CDs as a gift: the first including PC-FX demos and the second the Motteke Tamago game complete with instructions. The reasons for the cancellation of the release in 1993 still remain mysterious. It seems that Naxat hesitated for a long time in the final choice of support: HuCARD or CD. The game was 100% finalized and its serial number “NXCD3022” had already been assigned to it. If we look at the two games surrounding Motteke Tamago in the Naxat games listing by their reference number, we find Summer Carnival '93 Nerxz Special released on July 23, 1993 and Mahjong Clinic Special released on August 24, 1993. We can therefore logically deduce that the release of Motteke Tamago was scheduled for summer 1993.
