Mushihime-Sama
Synopsis
The game includes 3 difficulty modes: Original, Maniac, and Ultra mode.
Original: A mode where shots are relatively few but fast. The scoring system is almost non-existent there. With this gameplay mode, Cave tries to rediscover its roots from the Toaplan era.
Maniac: This mode constitutes the standard difficulty of the game; it includes relatively elaborate shot patterns (or patterns in English) as well as a lower speed than in Original mode. The scoring system being quite complicated to understand and apply, it resides in the chain system, a system that increases the score if one manages to chain enemies without leaving any dead time. Like in DoDonPachi, but this time, if there is dead time, only the main counter will drop, and relatively quickly.
Ultra mode is reserved for hardcore gamers, with enemy shot speed almost as fast as in Original mode and extremely numerous bullets, the player no longer knows where to look. One must anticipate every movement, enemy, and pattern. The scoring system is identical to that of Maniac mode, but it is much less easy to score.
