Synopsis

New Rally-X is an arcade maze and driving game that was released by Namco in 1981. It runs on similar hardware to its predecessor, and as the name suggests, it is a revised version of that title, released the previous year. The only differences are slightly improved graphics, easier gameplay, a new soundtrack, and a "lucky flag" (with the letter "L") which gives the player extra points for remaining fuel when collected, after which the round will continue if any flags remain. The mazes are mostly identical, with a few Rally-X blocks turned into roads to reduce dead ends, and a few different locations for flags (and rocks). This title was produced in greater numbers and was much more popular in Japan than its predecessor.
