Synopsis

In Ninja Gaiden, (renamed Shadow Warriors in Europe) the player plays a ninja, Ryu Hayabusa, through his journey to the United States to find his father's murderer. One of the particularities of Ninja Gaiden is the variety of movements available to the hero, which allow him to move with ease in the setting: among others, a somersault forward or backward, a side jump which also allows him to reach the upper platforms or even the "Phoenix Backflip" (backward jump reversed by leaning on a wall). The attack movements consist of a rapid sequence of kicks/punches, a “jumping” projection (“Flying Neck Throw”) and a special “whirlwind” move.
