Synopsis

Nintendo World Cup, known in Japan as Nekketsu Koko Dodgeball-bu: Soccer-hen, literally "Nekketsu High School Dodgeball Club: Football Edition" is a 6 versus 6 football game playable at 4 with the adapter.
This is the fourth in the prolific "Nekketsu Koha Kunio-kun" series which can roughly be translated as "the thug Kunio from Nekketsu High School" and which offered a dozen titles to the NES (River City Ransom, Crash 'n the Boys: Street Challenge, etc.).
the player controls a single character, but can in return give instructions to his teammates, so that they recover the ball or make a pass. To this rather unrealistic gameplay, we can also mention the fact that players can use a special kick or header five times per half, which can be used as soon as the player does a bicycle or dive head first, or hits the ball with momentum.
The Nekketsu school is opposed to 12 other high schools. 5 of these teams can be selected in versus mode.
The European and American versions replace Japanese high schools with national teams playing in a World Cup. 13 teams are available, all playable in versus mode: USA, Netherlands, Japan, France, Cameroon, Russia, Mexico, England, Spain, Brazil, West Germany, Argentina, Italy.
The intro scenes and numerous interludes were removed in the European and American versions. However, these Western versions allow 4 players to play.
