Synopsis

Othello World is a puzzle game based on a board game of the same name whose principle is to place your pawns on a single-colored board (othellier) on squares where the opposing player's pawns are located until all the squares are filled or none of the players can play the next round. The first person to obtain the greatest number of pawns on the game board is considered the winner. In this version, you can play against a second player and choose the duration of your turns. The game is divided into multiple worlds, featuring CPU opponents of increasing difficulty with origins such as fairy tales, Alice in Wonderland, and the works of Shakespeare (recalling the etymology of the game). Each world has five opponents, and beating three of them will unlock the next world. The game has passwords to continue, which are given between worlds. The final opponent is a divine figure named Tamenori, named after Japanese champion Othello Hideshi Tamenori.
