Synopsis

Inspired by the arcade game Pooyan, Outback lets you play as Boss Roo, who tries to save nine Joeys from the clutches of the Swagmen across three levels. The game is played in side view: the levels are displayed on a screen while your hero is in an elevator operated by a pulley system located to the right of the screen. The latter moves vertically. You must eliminate 32 Swagmen by destroying their balloons or parachutes using a bow and arrows, in order to make them crash and thus access the next level. Before you start, you can choose from different options: number of lives (3 to 5), difficulty level (1 to 3) and points to get extra lives (30000 to 50000). Boss Roo is controlled using a joystick or keyboard.
