Synopsis

The story is a continuation of the events depicted in Persona 4 Arena and begins the day after the end of the previous game, meaning that Arena Ultimax also takes place in May 2012.

The Midnight Channel is back on the air and once again airing a strange commercial for another fighting tournament called P-1 Climax, also known as Operation: World Destruction, which shows the members of the investigation team and the shadow agents in combat. Moments later, Inaba suffers a power outage and is engulfed by a strange red fog. Additionally, characters uncannily resembling crucified Mitsuru Kirijo, Aigis, and Akihiko Sanada are shown on television. As the investigation team tries to figure out what's going on, Junpei Iori and Rise Kujikawa find themselves trapped in the red fog, while Labrys, Ken Amada, Koromaru, and Yukari Takeba board a helicopter to see the fog engulf Inaba.
