Synopsis

The game takes place during the summer of AW 1284, shortly before the events of Phantasy Star II.

Hugh Thompson (or Huey Reane) is a biology researcher at Motavia University. He was asked by the University President to investigate an incident involving an energy-efficient plant creature that wanders the campus, feeding on electricity and steadily increasing in size. After the creature spreads through the college's reactor, threatening to cut off the entire town of Kvarts of its electricity, Hugh works to stop it. This adventure eventually leads Hugh to adapt his knowledge of biomonster anatomy to combat, with the help of Rolf from Phantasy Star II.
