Synopsis

Pitfall II: The Lost Caverns is the sequel to Pitfall and was released for various systems in the mid-1980s, including the SG-1000 in 1985. The gameplay is similar to the original game, but the levels are more labyrinthine.

Sega's version of Pitfall II was significantly improved over its Western counterparts for the Atari 2600, ColecoVision, etc. The gameplay is largely the same, but there are a lot of additions. These include a system of lives, mine carts, balloons and a final Demon Boss. The SG-1000 version is directly inspired by the arcade game, and while it can't match the same level of graphics quality, it's arguably the best looking game port on the market.
