Synopsis

An alien artefact enters the solar system, heading straight for Earth. Was it a spaceship? Was it a probe? We'll never know. Earth's automatic defences went into action, destroying the object. But when the explosion dissipated, it was the Earth itself that had disappeared, but its force of gravity was still there, allowing the Moon to keep its usual place, but revolving around "NOTHING".
You are one of the 4 astronauts who were on the lunar science base at the time. The base command and scientists have been analysing an object that was left behind by the alien craft. As the ship's trajectory suggests that it came from the direction of the Centauri sector, the artefact is named "Centauri artefact". Command therefore sends you to the Centauri sector to find information about this object.
