Synopsis

Planetoids is one of the first asteroid clones for Apple II.
The gameplay is the same as in the original arcade with the player having control of a ship which must destroy the surrounding asteroids. The ship can be turned and moved using thrust to send it forward. There is also the ability to enter hyperspace which sends the ship to a random location on the screen. Larger asteroids break into 2 small pieces if knocked down, and they become 2 small pieces again. These last little pieces can be cut down and destroyed. In addition to asteroids, there are star dockings which are worth bonus points if pulled.
The player advances to the next level when all asteroids in a field are destroyed. They start with 3 ships, and when all is lost, the game is over.
