Synopsis

Plutos is a vertical scrolling shoot'em up featuring a succession of waves, containing what is reputed to be the first simultaneous 2 player mode on the ST or Amiga. Most of the enemies you face are waves of laser shells that move around the screen, with turrets and shooting enemies to fight or avoid. You start with 4 lives, and get an extra life (and a 5000 point bonus) after each level.

In many similar shoot'em ups, you have unlimited fuel but need to collect ammo refills or power-ups. Plutos doesn't have any weapon upgrades, but instead inventively forces you to refuel, shooting at stations that contain fuel (there are also berries for 500 bonus points marked). Each level ends with an enemy with eyes shooting at you, and starting at level 3, front-mounted teeth also shoot at you.
