Synopsis

Poker Night 2 is a computer poker simulation between an invisible participant (the player) and four characters. Each player starts with the same amount of virtual money and competes according to standard poker rules in an attempt to eliminate all other players by depleting their money. Besides the Texas hold 'em style of play, Poker Night 2 also includes Omaha hold 'em.
The four additional characters besides the player are Sam from the Sam & Max franchise (voiced by David Nowlin), who is assisted by Max (voiced by David Boat), Brock Samson from the Venture Bros (voiced by Patrick Warburton), Ash Williams from the Evil Dead franchise (voiced by Danny Webber), and Claptrap from the Borderlands series (voiced by David Eddings). GLaDOS (voiced by Ellen McLain) from the Portal series plays a secondary role as a dealer.[1][4] During games, these characters chat with each other and with the player with humor. Mad Moxxi from Borderlands also appears as a bartender, and Reginald Van Winslow from Tales of Monkey Island reprises his role as host. Steve from Borderlands, Doug from The Walking Dead, and a server from Gravity Bone also make brief appearances.
The game features unlockable maps, tokens, and tables, as well as "bounties" for completing certain objectives, which unlock Borderlands 2 content and, depending on the platform used, Team Fortress 2 items on Steam, Xbox Avatar items, or PlayStation 3 themes.[4][5] The simultaneous use of tokens, cards and tables sharing the same theme changes the design of the inventory, opening up new possibilities for conversation. Players can also offer drinks to other characters to make it easier to reveal their secrets.
