Synopsis

Portopia Renzoku Satsujin Jiken is a first-person murder text adventure of the murder of Yuji Horii (of Dragon Quest fame) in the gaming industry. Originally released for the PC-6001 system in 1983, the NES port allows players to enter commands by selecting them via their gamepad from a list of verbs and search on-screen graphics for hotspots.

The story puts players in the shoes of an unnamed Japanese police detective on a quest to solve the murder of a bank manager. During his travels through real Japanese settings, the anonymous and silent protagonist is assisted by his colleague Yasu who carries out his orders.
