Synopsis

Don't let the 2010 edition fool you: it's based on the original version of the popular '80s game show Press Your Luck. The garish 1980s setting and the flow of the show have both been faithfully reproduced in digital form. The game features a single-player mode, in which the competitor plays through 20 different opponent shows of increasing difficulty. Alternatively, up to three players can play an episode as participants in the game's "Party Mode".

The gameplay mirrors the game show it is based on. There are two rounds, each with a question phase and a table phase. Players are asked four multiple choice questions during the question phase. Calling first and giving the correct answer earns you 3 rounds. The other two players then have the opportunity to choose their answer to win 1 round. Incorrect answers earn no rounds.

During the board phase, players use their accumulated turns to accumulate money. The board "spins" randomly until the player presses a button to stop the cycle, thus winning the money on the space the board stopped on. If the board stops on a "Whammy" cartoon, that contestant's score is set to zero. Four Whammies removes this competitor from the game. The idea is to "try your luck" for as long as you can, then transfer the remaining turns to another player in the hopes of forcing them to participate in a Whammy.

As players win games, they unlock new costumes and hairstyles for their avatar.
