Synopsis

The storyline of Prince of Persia 2: The Shadow and the Flame is a direct sequel to 1989's Prince of Persia. The prince and princess eventually get married, but after eleven days of happiness, as he leaves the palace, the prince's clothes change into rags. Upon his return, Jaffar, the tyrannical former grand vizier, assumed the prince's appearance, and stole his place at the palace. The prince is taken for a madman when he tries to explain himself and, chased, he is forced to escape aboard a ship which sets sail. During the trip, a strange woman appears in his dreams, and asks him to join her. The boat is caught in a storm and the stowaway is stranded on the shores of a foreign land. The prince's adventures lead him into a cave and then into a ruined palace. During his absence, the former grand vizier seized power, established martial law and put the princess into a fatal sleep.
