Synopsis

In Quake, the player (unnamed in this version) must collect four magic runes to access Shub-Niggurath and destroy it. There are 38 levels, most of which are spread across four "episodes" (others, like the introduction and the final level, are classified as levels internally, but are not included in episodes), four of them being secret levels.
Like other first-person shooters of the era, it involves reaching the end of a level by shooting down enemies, collecting keys, solving puzzles, and overcoming platforming segments.
