Synopsis

Quantox is a multi-directional shoot-em-up that takes place in a rectangular arena. There are six entrances to the arena, which spew out waves of enemies that the player must destroy with their spaceship. The player's shots bounce off the walls of the arena, but only travel for a certain amount of time before disappearing. Once an enemy has been hit, it can be destroyed by ramming it. If the player is not fast enough, the enemy attacker returns to its initial state and is now harder to make vulnerable and gains speed.

From time to time, special power-ups appear in the arena. Some of them have a positive effect, such as increased weapon range or a more powerful shield. After completing certain levels, mini-games are available which allow the player to earn credits which they can exchange for better weapons in a shop.
