Quantum
Synopsis
Quantum takes place in the subatomic world of quantum physics. The player controls a probe (or "Sparkler") and must completely encircle atomic particles to earn points without touching other particles. Once the particles are surrounded by the tail of the probe, they are destroyed.
The game has many types of particles that must be surrounded, destroyed or avoided. First, there are the nuclei around which the electrons orbit. When a nucleus is encircled (trapped) and explodes, the electrons transform into positrons which, if encircled before flying off the screen, earn extra points.
As the game progresses, pulsars appear. They move towards the player's probe, vibrating their arms as they move. The probe is destroyed if it comes into contact with part of a pulsar. Other deadly particles include triangular Photons, self-destructing Splitters, and diamond-shaped Triphons.
