Synopsis

R-Type Dimensions brings together R-Type and R-Type II into one game. Both shoot-em-ups are exact ports of their arcade versions. New features include an improved 3D graphics mode with two different camera angles and support for widescreen displays. The player can switch from 2D to 3D at any time during the game. The game contains two game modes: classic and unlimited. Classic mode plays like a normal R-Type, with a limited number of lives and a respawn at a certain checkpoint in the level. Unlimited mode, on the other hand, offers the player an unlimited number of lives, and respawning is instantaneous. In this mode, the player can compete to finish the game with as few extra lives as possible. Completing a game in unlimited mode also unlocks levels to play in classic mode.
