Synopsis

Medieval fantasy role-playing game published as shareware by Fantasoft in 1994 on Macintosh. Tim Phillips wrote it on a Macintosh IIsi and wrote four screenplays, including City of Bywater which served as an introduction. The game is especially valuable for its open architecture: the adventures are independent modules, and the Divinity editor made it possible to create new ones, so much so that the community nourished the title for years. Jim Foley added Castle in the Clouds and White Dragon, Sean Sayrs three screenplays including Griloch's Revenge. A Windows version followed in 1999, and the engine was used again in 2001 for New Centurions, a transposition of the principle into a science fiction setting.
