Synopsis

The game uses fractal technology to create the rugged mountains of an alien planet, where visibility was greatly reduced by the dense atmosphere. The player controls a fictional space fighter "Valkyrie" (converted for search and rescue missions) in first person, attempting to land and recover downed Ethercorps pilots. Some of these mountains house anti-aircraft guns that must be avoided or destroyed. Due to the diversity of the terrain, the direction finder must be used to locate pilots, whose visual beacons are often obscured by mountain ridges.

At higher levels, enemy Jaggis begin flying kamikaze saucers. The mission area also moves to day/night boundaries. Night missions are particularly difficult, requiring diligent use of the altimeter to avoid crashing.

Flying uses fuel. The way to replenish this reserve is to rescue downed pilots who bring their remaining fuel reserves on board.
